Glad he's ok. That is scary. And you say it's normal, it really is. On a previous nightmare trip, the same family members witnessed a number of crazy scenes. Then there was a news report of someone having a heart attack yet made to wait in the passage for 7 hours.

Unfortunately in our techo toy world doctors are unable to diagnose as they once did. They are reliant on tests and modelling systems and number crunching. I did read somewhere that anatomy studies for medical students had been reduced to less than half what they were. Any doctor under the age of 50 knows next to nothing beyond ordering tests, prescribing meds and ticking the boxes in the name of fear-driven maybe medicine.

Unfortunately, in our shill world, politicians are unable to serve as they once did. They are reliant on billionaires, party politics and public idiocy. I did read somewhere that that community service for wannabe politicians had been reduced to zero. Any politicians of any age knows next to nothing beyond press releases, infographs and ticking interviews in the name of fear-driven neoliberalism.

We're all supposed to die within the next two to four weeks, the background music in the videos was louder than the narratives; so what am I supposed to make of it? Complain about the frosting on the cake, just before they throw the switch to the electric chair that kills me?

Don't sit on the electric chair to eat the cake.

Interesting - and I can forgive the only going back to 2008 thing.

But the reality in the UK is this started in the late 70s with Maggie - she kicked off the total decimation of the health service, indeed all public services, including housing in the UK.

If you haven't read the excellent "Chavs" by Owen Jones, I highly recommend it. It's a phenomenal charting of the demonisation of the working class, and the laws, decisions etc that laid the groundwork to all of that.

It's a zesty documentary with punch. It's great for newcomers. Of course, Maggie is where the losing colonialism slide was titled at a steeper angle. In 1984, the now esteemed Ken Loach was commissioned for a documentary about the strikers, which he called 'Which Side Are You On?" They refused to air it. I haven't read Owen Jones and now that you point him out, all his books look interesting.

yeah, It packed a lot in to 15 minutes, and is on the money.

I've never seen that Loach documentary. I bleeding love his work, so I'll have to hunt it out.

I've not read any of Owen's other books in truth, despite him being on my radar. But Chavs is so essential - he really called the whole modern demonisation thing so early on - it was published in 2011.... and traces its roots really succinctly.
