International Court of Justice recognises the Palestinians’ right to be protected from acts of genocide, rules in favour of South Africa's case against Israel.
Thanks for breaking down the decision. TBH it feels like a loss when all Israel has to do is “turn it down a notch.” And a month later, tell us how it did.
Seems like bureaucratic bullshit to me. Israel is obviously slaughtering as many Palestinians as possible, and the "world" is fine with it. Disgusting.
I never expected a clear win, not when empire is alive. But it provides a moral victory, that some countries on the fence now have a ruling to refer to, and that some citizens will scream louder at their governments.
It's diluted but I thought it would be more, an opportunity to discredit the UN. But they found a middle ground between interests, and we get to use it as a substantiation for morality, and that brown folks matter too, and that Zionism isn't an untouchable religion, and that Germany's a dick.
HI Mike! Small wins count, but this win has no teeth. In other way it helps us see whom is above the law,and whom is not. Backed in a corner, the sounding Arab states might rise up together and fight Israel. That won't heal the problem though. As long as the concept that God has a chosen people exists, this problem will continue. Maybe we all need to drop a region based on the hypothesis of Adem and Eve.
It was really great how Israel and the US had a plan waiting in the wings to make sure they could still have cover to continue starving the Gazan’s to death.
I celebrate the victories we can get, but the cynic in me will takeover soon.
I'll wiggle my arse in non-twerky fashion :)
Someone unsubscribed after I posted this. I apologise for ruining their day :)
Their loss

Netanhayu's political survival isn't a notch, it's an all or nothing :(

It’s a start and quite frankly I didn’t expect that. Shows how cynical I am.

Any religion that believes that a god created evil so that they could be superior...
It's a joy to hear the thoughts of an intelligent man
I too seek voices in the wilderness.
🤠

Yep, Netanhayu's that kind of terrific guy.
