Russia/Ukraine Update: 10 Jan 2024
When propagandists begin failing, they can get desperate rather than smarter.

The UK Defence Ministry has stated that Russia has a “a low quality, high quantity mass army” that will have suffered 500,000 deaths by the end of the year. It further states that it will take up to a decade to rebuild an experienced army. That’s being repeated in mainstream media with none contradicting it with the fact that Russia now has 1,320,000 soldiers and support staff, of which approximately half are in Ukraine, and many are battle hardened.
Similarly, Larry Johnson relates that a former NATO deputy secretary-general, and a former U.S. deputy assistant defense secretary for NATO policy, published ‘Ukraine Has a Path to Victory’.
The real path includes Ukrainian women - 50,000 uniforms have been ordered for them. Ukraine intends denying men in other countries their passport renewals unless they return. However, its unconstitutional, so expect debate in Parliament.
One of the longest-running propaganda sticks was that Russia was going to run out of missiles. That died off 5 months ago, when the New York Times admitted that Russia is making more ammunition than the USA and Europe combined, and that its missile manufacture was higher than pre-invasion levels.
A different missile lie was Ukraine continually saying that they’d shot down most incoming Russian missiles. Explosions easily proved that wrong, and thus was surely one of the reasons why Ukrainians were banned from filming them. Consequently, it was notable that Ukraine announced this past Monday that it had only intercepted 18 of 51 projectiles. The moment of truth (or near truth) was undoubtedly the result of Russia biggest missile wave the past 2 weeks, with the exception of January 7, xmas day.
The worst war propaganda outfit is The Daily Telegraph. I previously explained why they’re The Daily Terrorgraph. It is therefore astounding that they published ‘Tired Zelensky looks too weak to achieve victory’, a clear sign that the West is looking for a way out.
“Ukraine’s nightmare scenario is becoming a reality,” said Ben Hodges, former commander of the US Army in Europe. “Ukraine has almost run out of ammunition, and Europe and the USA are not willing to take their ammunition production to a new level.” Andrei Martyanov has a response.
There’s noise over North Korea allegedly supplying Russia weapons. I describe it as “noise” because it’s received a lot of press coverage without any proof i.e., coordinated campaign. And if it’s true, then they’re ignoring the obvious, which is the Public still being taught what’s evil. As a White South African, I grew up with every book and movie telling me the CIA were the good guys. Now it’s moral for the USA, the world’s #1 weapons exporter/profiteer, to send HIMARS to Ukraine, but immoral if North Korea sends ballistic missiles to Russia.
Turkey’s military exports increased 25% in 2023. Ukraine’s betrayal of the Minsk II Agreement and Azerbaijan’s attack on Armenia have been good for business.
“An internal audit of Ukraine’s Defence Ministry has found more than $262m worth of violations in four months,” reports Al Jazeera.
The Pentagon and Lloyd Austin, the US Defence Secretary, hid his prostate cancer from the White House for one month, and doubled-down by not informing them that he had surgery on December 22, and, due to an infection, was admitted to intensive care on January 1. Considering his important position, it was a serious breach of protocol. John Kirby was evasive when questioned at a White House Conference. He swelled his replies with irrelevance but it’s still worth watching this segment when journalist Peter Doocy presses him.
The extra tragedy of Israel’s hate is that it revoked work permits for 118,500 Palestinians, damaging their families. The farce is that Netanhayu asked UAE President Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to pay those poor Palestinians. Nahyan was surprised as the audacity, and sarcastically responded that Netanhayu should ask Zelensky for help.
Russia is offering citizenship to entice foreign fighters. Poland set a record with 13,500 recruits in 2023.
The good news is that, one week ago, there was a prisoner swap of 230 Ukrainians and 248 Russians.
