Saturday's Show: 'Haulout'
Russian scientist Maxim Chakilev beds down in a hut on the coast of the Siberian Arctic.
For the full effect of ‘Haulout’, the amazing short documentary, ensure that you watch it in the dark with your sound volume turned to LOUD. It’s needed for a particular moment that will make you gasp like I did. This is wondrous!
‘Haulout’ was filmed by Maxim Arbugaev and Evgenia Arbugaeva. They’ve won 5 awards from Asian, American and European festivals. They were also given the Laurel Branch, the Russian national award for exceptional documentaries.
Damn Mike, that was very impressive. Afterwards I read the UN report. There's something I find very ironic and that's the outsize carbon footprint of the activists in their private jets.
I think of all the military aircraft flying around the world, also exhaust from tanks, self propelled howitzers and all the other hardware.
Hell! I now feel guilty driving, BBQing and lighting a campfire. We have a solution to the coal and gas fired power plants which is nuclear power.
Maybe the real solution is going back to the pre industrial days of horses and wagons. Mules plowing the fields are something I've seen during my youth. Of course life expectancy would be greatly reduced. Maybe this is the real plan of the WEF.
