I watched some of the very first video material of the start of the Russian SMO in the Ukraine at the end of Feb 2022, and was astounded by the fact that the Russian tank squadrons had trucks moving ahead laying down old tyres for the tanks to cross the asphalt roads in the Ukraine without damaging the asphalt.
That's not exactly something you do if you intend destroying your enemy's infrastructure.
The Ukraine is not winning. It was never going to win. The Americans started this war using Ukraine as cannon fodder, in the hope that some Russian casualties would see the Russkies turn on Putin and tear him down. The Americans are nothing if not naive.
I do not believe that the Ukraine is winning. I do not believe the Russians are winning. Depending of what media you watch you get both messages. the question is then where is journalism that tells the human stories? It is the human stories that matter not the narratives built on agendas that have nothing to do with the people!
Voltaire, Shaw, Vonnegut, all of them came to this conclusion and in almost exact the same words. Thanks heaps for the reminder. 👏🏼 Hope humanity does more reading and less insane asyluming.
Thanks, Mike. I was busy watching the historic transfer of power in Mexico. The disaster in Ukraine is tragic. I can’t imagine it can sustain casualties at this rate any longer. The deranged Zelenskyy is adamant in sending his men to the slaughterhouse. The inhumanity of the neocon mentality is astounding, they create these wars but won’t send their kids to fight them. And these scums are out in force trying to jumpstart bombíng Iran.
There used to be the belief that women would make better politicians and government officials, that the world would be a better place with fairer representation. Probably that mistaken belief that all women are motherly, and only men resort to killing. Hillary Clinton, Ursula von der Leyen, Liz Truss…. May Mexico’s President become an exception. She’s got a tough job.
In the West, women seem to be hellbent proving their mettle, and become awful people in the process. In LATAM, women have a mixed track record. I hope Claudia does a great job, her predecessor did an amazing job. He mentored her so I believe she’s got what it takes to be successful. Best!
I could be wrong but I have a sense the Russians, no doubt from necessity, are far ahead of the game compared to the Americans when it comes to planning for war in the future.
It is symbolic and relevant that the US is run by a feeble, ailing and barely functional old man because that is what the United States is at this point of history. It may have wealth in money terms, and a military arsenal, but it does not have intelligence nor robust youth culturally.
That may change of course, again because of necessity, but for the moment Joe Biden. Donald Trump and Kamala Harris represent all that is wrong with the US and why it is in decline.
Decrepit ( infrastructure in ruins), rich (great national wealth which does nothing for most Americans) and colour coded (chosen for her colour and gender and not her ability.)
It is a nation where the fabric of it is in ruins despite its wealth and those in power are not there for their ability, but for their suitability dictated by stupid social agendas.
The Russians survived $350bn in foreign reserves being stolen i.e. they began hard prep the moment the USA overthrew Ukraine's government in 2014. The sad thing is that Putin had repeatedly tried to join Europe, and has now finally admitted Russia is barred entry for American interest.
What the US has is population growth thanks to immigrants. That's a major challenge for Russia, amplified by its vastness.
The Russians have a long history of suffering and survival, the Americans do not.
The Russians have a diverse population, united as Russians.
The Americans have a diverse population with a lot of migrants who are not assimilated and who are often poor and working poor who are not united as Americans.
The Russians have patience and wisdom. The Americans have neither.
The Russians have a long and ancient history and the United States is a recent blip on history's page.
To digress, in terms of epigenetic fields and systems, the ancient countries like Russia (and Iran and China) have far more stable and cohesive cultural systems which holds things together when times get tough.
The US made a huge error in seeking to boost its population with so many migrants, particularly since, unlike Australia and other places, the migrants needed no skills base. Combined with the truly terrible American education system where communities pay for the school so rich communities have great schools and poor ones have shit schools, the US has tens of millions of disaffected citizens with a crappy education, rotten wages and the poorest quality of life in the developed world.
That is not a recipe for success.
A wise and scholarly friend who was 40 years older than me, said years ago that the US was like an adolescent who had cut the apron strings to Mum too soon, and had too much money and too many weapons and too little intelligence and no maturity. That pubescent energy in the first couple of centuries certainly produced huge reserves of energy and innovation and there were enough old ones to top it all up with wisdom. But generations on that is not the case.
I agree this war, Palestine in particular has changed war. And that is because in a connected world of technology and social media, the images and information are disseminated globally and constantly. A picture is worth a thousand words is the old journo maxim and there have been so many pictures of the horrors Israel is committing that more people instinctively see Israel as the terrorist.
Perhaps more importantly, it is the young on Instagram and the other mediums which older people do not use, who see more of the images and that matters because they are the future of citizens and votes.
It is no small thing that more than 50% of young Americans want Israel dismantled.
It is certainly easier to lie in this age but also easier to refute the lies and access the truth. Citizen journalism like all journalism is flawed, but there is enough material to sift through to make sense of what is going on. Something good mainstream media once did but that no longer exists.
Syria was the first biggie social bloody sharing. And the doccies that came out of it extra powerful. Did you watch 'The Cave'? And, back to our earlier chat, 'Hypernormalisation'?
I've never used Instagram and not convinced images alone can affect the world when those images are more about reaction than action, living in the same world of filtered beauty shots. Plus, being Meta, there's censorship.
"It is no small thing that more than 50% of young Americans want Israel dismantled." They're too distracted by too many shiny things to be as indoctrinated as our generations were.
Agreed, this war is the first modern drone war, it’s completely insane how it’s changed the front lines on both side and the immense body counts. It’s SO brutal.
A cheap suicide drone can take out a million dollar tank.
I have long believed more harm is done in weakness than strength. The weak, physically, mentally, emotionally, materially, whatever, are likely to be more violent because with violence they have the delusion of power.
When humans become angry, invariably behind it there is fear of some kind and if the anger is not controlled then we can conclude it is serving the purpose of disguising the fear which is far more terrible for most people to face.
Israel is a fake state and that makes it weak. It was founded in fear and that makes it weak. It is self sufficient in nothing but ego and rage and that makes it weak. It is a State version of the very short man who is forever bolshie and defensive because unconsciously he has an inferiority complex.
In material terms Israel produces very little and certainly not enough to survive without the world. The world however has no need of Israel and perhaps at some level, the three or four intelligent Israelis know this and the rest fear it is true and so become even more violent.
But don't forget to tell your subscribers that the Ukraine is winning, while you hold your tongue deep in your cheek.
I want Ukrainians to live, which is why I began this substack. May we all survive political corruption!
Even the Russians want the Ukrainians to live.

Russia offered peace straight after the invasion, and has several times since. They consider Ukrainians fellow Slavs.
It's pretty clear if one reads Putin's 5000 word essay he wrote on the subject in July 2021.
Russia offered peace before the invasion. The Yanks said NO and the Ukrainians were stupid enough to go along with it.
Ukrainians voted for peace. Ukrainian ‘leaders’ went along with it.
The Ukraine is not winning. It was never going to win. The Americans started this war using Ukraine as cannon fodder, in the hope that some Russian casualties would see the Russkies turn on Putin and tear him down. The Americans are nothing if not naive.
Casually cruel.

What do you define as winning? That will assist my response.
one side say's it had a enough. At the end of the day it is the rank n file people who lose and may never recover. Families shattered for generations.
It hurts me that my fellow humans are almost always the proverbial lemming.
This is where we are. Most are comfortable there. I have come to accept this now.
Human nature is a bitch in my mind.
Indescribable horror. Hundreds of thousands of of dead men, in the prime of their lives, all to fuel the dismantling of Russia.
And the world stands by watching.
Apathy would have been a better name than Earth.
Who was it who said Earth is the insane asylum for the rest of the galaxy? Vonnegut?
I’m hoping it was me who said something that cool.
Voltaire, Shaw, Vonnegut, all of them came to this conclusion and in almost exact the same words. Thanks heaps for the reminder. 👏🏼 Hope humanity does more reading and less insane asyluming.

Thank you Mike.
I wonder how the people who make and send so many bombs for American wars sleep at night.
They’re busy figuring out how to get pay rises.
And making bigger better and far more effective bombs cheaper.
It’s a constant hard work building really affective death objects.
Phewww the slog and sweat we put into it!
Escalation leads to escalation. This war has changed war.
I could be wrong but I have a sense the Russians, no doubt from necessity, are far ahead of the game compared to the Americans when it comes to planning for war in the future.

Not really, violence always begets violence, always has and always will due to endless escalation.
That’s the very problem with violence.
Peace is SO much harder and requires a lot of constant work.
Peace requires you to see that your the problem and you have to face your own failings and dysfunctions.
Naaahh f..k it!
Blowing shit up and killing is relatively easy.
Building and sharing and being peaceful, negotiating is so much harder.
That’s not the psychopaths way, the way fills them with terror, much more exciting to burn everyone and the place. So much more exciting.
Main thing is keeping hard core psychopaths away from any positions of power and not supporting or enabling them.
It’s the last part that is not at all easy to achieve. Big WIP we all need to work very hard on.
"Peace requires you to see that your the problem and you have to face your own failings and dysfunctions. " I like that.
By "change" I mean the use of drones (Putin opened a drone university this week), robot dogs, hypersonic missiles etc.
I agree this war, Palestine in particular has changed war. Well said.

Empires lash out in their decline, narcissists fight the mirror, the "worst loser"...
The fear is often denial.
You remind me to post our series. I'll sort it now.
Proxy war.
We all love a proxy war.
Send satellite images and bombs and let someone else collect all the body bags.
It’s all deniable when there are no bodies coming home.
The only country in the world is the USA. Everything else is in a galaxy far, far away…
We are the rebel alliance after all
