Thank you for pulling this list together. Personally, I prefer speedreading articles or transcripts to watching videos as keeping on top of 130+ subs is tough. However, am not averse to watching certain "gems" and you have assembled / curated an ornate crown for posterity. Bravo

Me too. I love videos, interviews and podcasts but I killed myself the past 2 years on Russia and Gaza, and the 2 years before that on COVID. I also unsubscribed from 100 substacks and deleted more than 100 other bookmarks. I'm trimming. So best to bookmark and watch only when you're in the mood for a doccie, instead of treating it as news. I suggest you watch one short and one full doccie (The Bubble), and then you will know if my recommendations are worth holding onto.

It's different to the rest. On one hand, the time we need to enjoy the most is our older years. Hopefully that's when we become more self-liberated and selfish (in a good way). The flipside is that the "bubble" is the byproduct of being citizens of an empire (although that isn't the doccie's angle, but my takeaway).

In fact, there's nothing like the first three doccies. 'The Mayor' is a totally different approach to Palestine, and 'Showgirls of Pakistan' is a culture and sub-culture mindfuck.

Saw the first few minutes of Show Girls. Looks fascinating but long. Is 5.15am here. Sleep now. Up at 7.30

Awoke 1.30am. Get more done before sun scorches the South. Whereas the family in the UK, on your time, are shivering.

'Showgirls' was initially very jarring for me but that befits a culture clash.
