Can any of these be serious problems if our South African population increases by half a million annually, and our banks earned 13.8% more in 2023?

- Young adult unemployment rate 44%.

- Petrol about to go up another 60 cents per litre.

- Electricity up 13% (making it 31% in 2 years).

- Food increases at https://substack.com/@mikehampton/note/c-52637845

And most are voting over what the ANC and DA are promising again...

The South African economy grew by a mere 0.6% in 2023, yet the banks grew by 13.8%, while per capita South Africans became poorer.

Somebody extracted more money from average South Africans that they could bank, but people in our country haven't figured out, that the Rich got Richer while the rest got poorer.

Bidenomics in the US is no different, as the US borrowed 6% of its GDP in 2023, yet the economy only grew by 2.2%, which effectively means that the US economy had a Negative growth of 3.8%, yes, ( -3.8%).

So the question to be asked is, what happened to that other 3.8% of borrowings, and how is it supposedly being accounted for?

I may have used a black man and apartheid as my opening example to make my South African readers question inequality but, for everyone, inequality is the real war, and the USA is the epicentre inspiring elite global greed.

We're being so extracted yet almost everyone is treating it as something less than a trip to the dentist even though the effect can last generations.

Your comment in regard to the black man and apartheid clearly displayed the irony of those of any race, who dedicate themselves in a fight for a certain dogma, without stopping to think for a moment.

As you are well aware, we have many dogmatic "whites" in South Africa who vilify the Country's membership of BRICS+ in a world where, with the exception of South Africa, all the economies of member states are growing, while traditional Western economies are all shrinking in real terms.

I find it interesting that the three global economies which grew by the greatest percentage to GDP in 2023, were, India 7.2%, Russia 5.5%, and China 5.2%, all of whom are BRICS+ members, yet our fellow South Africans would not have us be part of that success.

The only reasons why South Africa's economy is failing, is due to Domestic policies, fraud and corruption, and has nothing to do with our Foreign policies, or our BRICS+ membership.

Yesterday I came across a very interesting report in regard to how Huawei grew both in revenue and profit, phenomenally during 2023, despite US sanctions against them, which brought to mind Russia's economic growth of 5.5% despite being the most sanctioned country in the world.

On quick superficial analysis this tells me that it is more profitable Not to do business with the US, so I fail to see why an element of our citizens is so perturbed about the fact that South Africa might lose its AGOA membership and benefits, which they seem to cling to, without realising the market potential for agricultural products in BRICS+ member states like the UAE, Saudi Arabia, India and China, and products like pineapples and banana's in Russia, is most probably double that of the US market.

A South African company has just secured a major contract ( exact volume unknown ) to supply butchered and pre-packed meat to Saudi Arabia, in a total market worth $2 billion per annum, after South Africa's exclusion from the market for over a decade, proving that BRICS+ membership does open doors.

Slavery always exists, it's just to identify the new form it takes.

Yes, CORRUPTION the #1 source of South Africa's problems. There will be bribes from China and Russia as there are bribes from the West. Weak politicians are always bought. My belief is racism is the reason for most white people rejecting BRICS etc. Cultural indoctrination isn't easy to overcome. People sometimes run away from that which doesn't look like them.

My preferred position is that we trade with all. A weak country should try balance all powers interested in it. But if we ever had to choose a partner to fix our infrastructure, I'm all for the Chinese.

I never knew about the meat deal. Ta.

Talking about corruption, the US software giant, Oracle, has just been exposed for a 2015 corrupt deal in the amount of ZAR 800 odd billion for a system that was supposed to provide IT infrastructure for the South African government, and delivered a single trial terminal.

Loved your examples of stupidity!

Our half baked Christians tend to forget that the Romans had no intention of murdering Christ by hanging him on a Cross, but the Jews demanded it, now these supposed Christians cling to the very people who murdered Christ, like there's no tomorrow.

Truly the world has lost all sense of reality and gone totally mad.

Jerm definitely nailed in, and is most probably why I haven't seen him in much of our South African media lately, where, just like in the rest of the West, they don't like Home Truths being exposed, and thus try to exclude those who bring such truth's to the fore.

Great link. I agree and disagree. It's inevitable that humans rise up and destroy/kill. That's one of the 4 cycles. My argument is that people do it when they've no choice left, and not whilst life is in inevitable decline, and, especially, not for others whose life is in decline.

I like his quote, ""It takes a village to raise an idiot," the cousin of our ubuntu saying, ""It takes a village to raise a child."
