Excellent piece. One would suppose that the proliferation of 'freeports' worldwide and especially as promoted by the UK govt in the last decade is commensurate with the increased availability of narcotics on the streets. I am with you on a laissez-faire attitude to taking drugs and personal liberty, how would MPs stay awake at PMQs otherwise? But surely it would be better regulated and taxed and open to inspection.
Thanks. I don't get why lotto, alcohol and sugar's okay but other regulated drugs and prostitution isn't. Vices exist,. They can't be wished away by prayer. Humans will always pay tax for vices no matter how they complain. But I do hate the no-chance-in-escaping drugs such as tik and heroin straws which were the rage in Knysna. They would have been better off with that cocaine. I'm all for blowing up the illegal fishing boats!
Agreed... At some point, if history is the guide, market saturation and evident harm prompt backlash as the scale tips back the other way as citizenry rebels against evident 'poisoning' as the reality, usually from grassroots, until the administration is forced into action or capitulates. Humanity is, at the end of the day, a social entity with fight or flight at its base, no matter how much the overlords advertise otherwise.
The same syndicate operates north of the Texas border as far as I know for at least 30 plus years. You will work for Chen per se.
Street level would be the bandidos and, Lafamilia.
I was somewhat surprised.
And the middle to lower middle class will never see snow like they would in the 80s/90s, it's those awful designer crap. Made with black flag roach repellent.
And the other common synthetic. I forget the name. That so many people are ODing on.
Tik is what you would know as meth. Massive problem here, especially in poor communities in the Western Cape. Was a nightmare for the USA but Chinese fetanyl has become the bigger monster.
I work in northern Wisconsin and stay near a indian reservation, they are poor. TPTB are swamping the res with that stuff, I believe purposely.
The native aren't genetically adapted to alcohol, and that is another tragic story along with GMOs all diabetics and round pregnant bellies, and thier greedy elders keep feeding them to the wolves.
Lived there for awhile in the late 80's worked at a place called Jetty Tappa's & The Heads restaurant for a bit, we we so frigging poor. Had a boomslang in the eves of the cottage and came home for a period to giant spiders all over the walls inside the cottage, I think it was seasonal. We would collect them in a shoe box take them outside were to scared to harm them in case we pissed them off.
I don't know my snakes so steer clear despite my fascination. Had more of a mold problem than spiders :) Tappas still there, but completely different (trendy). Still two restaurants on Heads, the one closed down after great government fuck-ups and millions lost, and the other, leased without necessary tender, is brilliant, and a must for every traveller.
Knysna, so pretty!

Power to your arm, Mike. Keep it coming.
I'm sick of society's long distance flight to nowhere. May it land and fight in my lifetime.
