Gorbachov called it, way back in the build up to the Sochi winter olympics, when we went all fuck our former semi friend Putin.

He said it looked like the world was preparing for war. It looks more and more every day that he was correct. As a European, this news on top of Germany’s total lurch towards authoritarianism, France’s total fuck your protest approach and Ireland going completely thought crime, scares the living bejeezus out of me. It feels like the end scene of inception. Day to day life goes on at a normal pace. Outside in the layers, the build up and movement towards hell slouches in slow motion.

Yes, I'm in unease, especially watching the majority who go about their lives as if nothing is happening, just another episode of the Stepford Wives. I'm like the aliens in 'Arrival', failing to communicate with people who're predisposed towards thinking I'm the enemy because I'm not them.

'Inception' rocks. As do other mindfuckers like 'Coherence', 'Another Earth', and Donnie Darko'.

Coherence and another earth i’ve not seen. I fucking love donnie darko!

Arrival is amazing!

"Donnie Darko' is my favourite sci-fi movie. Do 'Coherence' next because its fun as well as clever - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2866360/ . Do 'Another Earth' when you're feeling reflective - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1549572/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

The best small budget kickers are 'Moon' - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1182345/ - 'Monster' - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1470827/ - and 'The Man From Earth' - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0756683/?ref_=ttls_li_tt

'Dark City' is wonderfully gothic - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118929/

Among the most adult are 'Mr Nobody' - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0485947/ - 'Her' - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1798709/ - and 'Upstream Color' - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2084989/

'Color Out of Space' was Nicholas Cage back in form - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5073642/

'Primer' will turn your head inside out - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0390384/

'Thirteenth Floor' is underrated - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0139809/ . So was "Strange Days' - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0114558/

Schwarzenegger surprised me with the subtle 'Maggie' - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1881002/

'Serenity', the feature sequel to the 'Firefly' series, is my favourite fun sci-fi - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0379786/ . 'Attack the Block' is the funniest British sci-fi - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1478964/

Action sci-fi deserving more applause are 'Pitch Black' and 'Event Horizon'. I haven't mentioned a lot of the biggies like 'Looper', '12 Monkeys' and 'Chronicles of Riddick' which you're sure to know.

Either that or we’re both philistines. Who cares ;)

Like what you like. Or as the wonderfully fucked up Doug Stanhope put it, kick like you kick.

Germany will have trouble keeping the lights on, let alone churning out more wunderwaffen... That current President of the EU, the ex-gynaecologist, what'shername, Von der Liar or something, remind me again which department she ran in Germany prior to being installed in the commission...

Von der Liar has interesting connections. How the Public bought the unelected hook, line and stinker, dismays me.

Her father was the negotiator of the Molotov/Ribbentrop pact, I believe and active in the Ukraine during the last war. Hannoverian merchant class family and we, the British (by accident of birth), know all about the Hannoverians.

I haven't looked into her but she's literally on my notepad list of too many intentions.

And Germany can't even pay it's EU annual bill nor subsidize heating this year for the German citizens. 🤡

What does the $8billion actually represent? It’s all buttons if there’s no physical materiel being transferred to the Ukraine. States don’t actually have anything material to hand.. they rely on private commercial enterprises to create stuff from basic raw materials + energy. It!’s all fantasy .. States conjuring numbers out of thin air based on flights of fancy ..

I can hope.

Also, Germany was always slow to send their promises. Their is reluctance in part of their government, the people I hope will fix the country one day.

Once had this vivid nightmareish dream some years ago of a great conflict climaxing into a cataclysmic explosion that I now believe to be in Iran. Not one to believe in premonitions but the current events happening now in Palestine with US and Israel build up of forces is uncannily similar to that hellish dream.

The rationality for a possible nuclear response from the gods of war has never been soreal considering the desperation and insanity now being witnessed the world over from this Empire of War. The inferred incitement and threat of an Israeli nuclear strike on Iran a holocaust has perhaps stunned the global and regional powers into passivity while the War God's unleash hell onto the Palestinian.

The situation is dire it seems to me and the outlook bleak as Russia and China and Iran remain poised for such an unthinkable possibility.

My dream was about Natalie Portman but...

The world troubles me deeply. The catch-22 at the moment is that the Arab states are choosing trade deals and weapon supply over Palestinian lives, but if they did attack your nightmare becomes real. Russia and China are looking good, winning diplomatic points with most of the world by being 'reasonable'.
