The cant about values and democracy, the flags and ceremonies are all a hideous pantomime designed to hide what has never changed : the lust for power and dominion.
To repeatedly deny the nature of humans, especially men, and even more so the will of the few to turn desire into reality, is to be foolish and unprepared.

As you're saying I saw various videos at the beginning of the war. About 2014 and after, that violence against russian speaking ukrainians. I saw Odessa massacre videos. A nice documentary on Donbass by a french woman director.
But I also saw at the beggining of the war the tortures to poor russian soldiers catch by Azov's nazi and crucified and burned alive. Young ukrainian guys and girls shot in the head and thrown in a common grave by the same Azov's. There is a site that collects horrors videos from mainly telegram (that I don't use).
And I saw a precise and detailed research study published on a western Universities researchers site on what really happened in Maidan with tens of videos, documents, testimonies of who were there.
But our problem is: who in the West spend time to research those info, who want to spend spare time to get this pretty often sad or terrible information, who really want his anger to grow so much, watching, hearing, his country's brothers/sisters blind and indifferent to the nazi route they're following once again, 100 years after? And this time much worst than it was, txs to today technology.
As I wrote, we don't discuss, debate each other our History, our legacies, in Europe anymore.

The 'Donbass' doccie was from 2016, by Anne-Laure Bonnet. Excellent, eye-opening for its time, but she got attacked and people don't know it exists. I tried to find her at one stage, hoping to upload it, but left it for later whilst other topics got in the way.
I'm anti-war, but realism is that it will continue until Putin has made, at minimum, a buffer zone to the four annexed oblasts and Belgorod. Zelensky would have to fall, as he issued a decree against dealing with Putin, and he keeps stating unrealistic demands with intent to sabotage peace.
Well, the Russians have killed an entire generation of Ukrainian young men, 550,000 + so hopefully the guys responsible for this horrific act, got tortured to death by their Russian captors.

Good point. The belligerent are the usually the soldiers, and soldiers die on the front line.
