I wondered at that, and thought that he was just playing to the fake Republican Christians back home.
The bias is extreme i.e. imagining the USA as a Christian country and that it turns the other cheek.
That’s why I made the “gotcha” comment. It just came out of nowhere and didn’t make any sense.
