I'm assuming because American politics changed the meaning of liberalism to woke, and thus traditional liberals now identify as something else they cannot name.
I've always been far, far, far, far, far to the left of liberal. Traditional liberals still identify as such. I can think of fewer worse insults you can hurl at me than to call me a liberal.

Why is liberal the furthest left on this poll?

South Africa's Western-backed politicians who attacked me choked the liberal label out of me.
Hopefully not literally?
An act of violence would've been less costly than a decade of destructive intimidation.
But a guy who did choke me probably got away with it because the cops/politicians never liked me.
