I wished I felt the same way as you but instead I feel deflated, like I'm going to stop watching the news and go watch a foreign movie to escape, one that doesn't involve the Middle East or the USA.

As a South African, I'm not an expert on your country but I would struggle to support any politician in the USA. They can be good on a single issue and horrendous on more, which makes me think that they're mostly appealing to the base they believe keeps them in power. The USA is so corrupted that only a tsunami, and not activism, could wash Washington.

Ukraine never had a chance. Even if there was a miracle chain of events, like earthquakes and nuclear explosions in Russia, Ukraine still would lose. They were damaged before NATO's intervention, and now have 400,000 dead, millions of emigrants never returning, and are the most land-mined country. The only industry guaranteed to increase after the war is mail order brides and baby factories - they're fucked. It's a tragedy that should never have happened. Putin never set a trap. History clearly shows that he repeatedly tried to stop a war. America happened. Thanks. I'll appreciate that. I put effort into trying to understand.

Putin is definitely not a saint, opposition arrested etc., but he is respected by most of his country. Only US/EU propaganda says otherwise. He rescued Russia from standing in bread queues in Winter. Adam Curtis' series is a must.

I'm cynical about most selfish human nature and the friction between great powers. I appreciate those who fight. I either have hope or have achieved Absurdism.

I appreciate your sentiment but the world will not die without the USA. And the USA would rebuild itself better after a collapse. But likely reality is slow decay and more problems, and thus a tragedy for Americans who care. Challenge my cynicism. Talk Ukraine.

By the way, I did watch a movie, and it competes for my favourite of the year. I was deeply moved by 'The Eight Mountains'. The director's done for friendship what he did for couples in 'Broken Circle Breakdown'. 'Eight Mountains' trailer at 'https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAJnd16VxuM

Thks Mike for the move.

Being totally bummed out lately I finally went to town got some fuel , beer and supplies for winter. It's hunting season here and hunters are all out en mass happy and laughing seemingly not a care in the world on what's happening to our country and Palestine.

It then dawned on me that they must have some sense what's happening but instead of being all bummed like me they are living life to its fullest, knowing theres really nothing they or anyone here can do to fundamentally change matters in big government.

I'm sure some of them even cast their ballot and voted the other day being the good conscientious Americans that they are. Myself spending a few sleepless nights and hours reading engaging people

the world over knowing like we in America there's really nothing any of us can do except developing deeper knowledge and perhaps outrage on just how fuck things really truly are.

It's not so much a lack of caring that we see in America but the understanding that life goes on and no point being struck down and bummed out by it all.

I play devil's advocate and apologist sometimes but more of them don't care, and would steal the food if forced into a situation where we had to share. Humans are animals, and some of us suffer from pretending we aren't. The best compromise is to be considerate, knowledgeable in opinion and charitable when possible, and especially enjoy life when we can. Going fishing and saying fuck the Russians and the Arabs is a no-no.

Be well, John, be well. Appreciate your woods for me.

The cabin in 'Eight Mountains' is central to the story.

Thanks for this Mike! Seemingly classic case of Arab countries continuing to do as little as possible, barring loads of nice-sounding verbiage, to *actually* help Palestinians in their hour of need!

Btw: the London march was attended by between 800k & 1 million people - not 300k as you’ve suggested! Immense & awesome turnout!

We need all of them to block Parliament, and contact Guiness Book of Records to verify how long it takes to arrest everyone (as opposed to the 126).

WAR OF TERROR 2.0: I fear that the war against Gaza will be a success in the manner that the War Of Terror was. More Moslem bombs and knives and bloodthirsty cars in Europe and the USA will maintain the security state's grip against Western Public freedom.

didn’t know Israel was a Corporation and had to establish a new corporation before 10/31/2023:

And these are the owners of the Corporation (same PO Box) Nightshade International aka Nerine Chambers (both incorporated on the same day…odd that.)

Here are the Genocidal parties:

The red ribbon runs through Jared Kushner and his buddy DEBRA RACKSTRAW (name on Nightshade International officers)

What a tangled web they weave.

All overseas entities have to be registered to own land in the UK. Beyond that, too much of a rabbit hole for me to go down. I'm trying not to be as distracted as I usually am (because side paths away from goals are endless).

Bloody woeful. Just when you think the Arabs have finally worked out who their enemies really are they go to water.

Instead of cutting off the oil, throwing out the Americans and laying siege to the Zionist perpetrators they carpet bomb with words. The US has never been more impotent yet the Arabs once again let them off the hook.

It's pathetic.

Yehh!

I don't think they will ever learn. The Arab elites are like the European elites, they are obsessed with their narcissism of minor differences and money.

It probably would be fairly easy to guess the four. I’m kind of with you with regards to a lack of optimism. In the US it’s more “what time does the game start” or “Trump will fix it”. We are not a serious people.
