The saudi head choppers are self servings cruel and heartless, they turn which ever way the favorable winds blow. Regardless this is good news and indicator of a favorable geopolitical outcome for Palestine.
The saudi refineries are sitting ducks for Yemen. An attack on saudi would significantly disrupt global oil markets. This proclamation could be just another of saudi face saving appeasements, like Turkey they may claim one thing but their true intentions are devious.
I find it difficult to condemn the Saudis for their violence when Israel has been decapitating and disembowelling babies, children, adults in the Gaza prison for 17 years to maintain occupation, colonisation and violence. If you want to talk about self serving, cruel and heartless, the Israelis are way ahead of the Saudis.
At the moment. But, overall, debatable. That Kingdom has hurt a lot of its people, and continues to do so. 300,000 Yemeni dead. Plus a century of crimes to its own. Plus Khashoggi. But I'm happy to be a realist for Palestine right now.
Well, perhaps I should have said, since the Israelis claim to be a Western democracy they are judged by that bar while the Saudis remain a tribal, fundamentally Islamic society which has not evolved socially to a more enlightened level. Context makes a difference. The Saudis have a lot of money and that has prevented healthy and steady social evolution.
I feel great empathy towards the Palestinian and the Yemeni as both MBS and Netanyahu have committed atrocities and genocide, although little has been reported on yemen in comparison.
The UAE Saudi Israel America are birds of a feather and in this respect each are supported and enriched by these barbaric acts.
I truly hope MBS has made a sincere gesture with this statement and will further contribute towards a peaceful and unified coexistence for the Muslim and Arab region.
That is positive news for Palestine. The Arabs are not united and neither are the Muslims but the genocide waged by Israel has certainly brought culture and religion much closer together.
Well, Christians are a disparate lot and not united as Christians as they were in centuries past. That is a part of the problem for Islam and Hinduism, that unlike Christianity, there are not overseeing bodies or systems which can direct change and provide a unified focus. Same problem for Judaism. Although even Christian únity' maybe more illusion than reality.
White, English-speakers have less culture than any other nation. Even more so for me coming from Durban where we were like expats but without a home country.
Do you mean culture or traditions? And not sure what white means given the intermixing of humans and the fact everyone alive today is descended from the same relatively small group of distant ancestors.
Having been exposed to a number of cultures with high levels of anglo-europeans, generally founded through anglo-europeans, I am in no doubt as to the diversity of this group.
Australians, Canadians, South Africans, New Zealanders, Americans, British, Scottish, Irish are all very different culturally. Similar ancestral origins but very different, particularly the Americans who are quite different to all the rest.
I would love for us all to be Coloured so we fight about something else but not necessary to break us down here.
There is a vast difference between our culture and that of the Chinese, Indians etc. We're diluted because we embraced individualism most of all. Our family and community bonds are weaker.
Coming from a teenhood in Apartheid in a country ruled by Afrikaners and with Africans oppressed, Durban was a pocket of English, and was nicknamed the Last British Outpost. I was called a rooinek and a soutie even though my parents were born here.
But, for a while, I was part of the rock 'n roll subculture, but the 'new' South Africa eventually killed that.
Richer whites ran away and built gated communities, and thus we became more unlinked. And as we vanish, currently at 6.8% of the population, not even angry politicians still blaming us for the ill of their leadership can bring us together.
The one good thing is that I live in a poorer neighbourhood, and thus here my neighbours are Whites, Blacks, Indians, and Coloureds.
Are you still in South Africa? I thought you were in the US.
And yes traditions do become cultures, absolutely, and all cultures are a mix of all that has gone before, both chosen and forced. I also believe that there are earth energies which influence and flavour people and cultures. But that is another topic and a complicated one.
And of course throughout history cultures have disappeared as have religions, nations, peoples, countries. Ebb and flow of human evolution.
It's possible Saudi Arabia is doing the "Israeli client state FoxTrot". The U.S. can't follow or predict the next move. Seems the Big Guy is always stepping on it's own feet.
Description of the Foxtrot: The fox-trot consists primarily of walking steps, chassés (step side, close step), and quarter turns.
What's a despicable Blinken to do? He's not yet bothered to learn a single Middle Eastern word.
Bibi is definitely headbanging Blinken, Biden believes in the genocide, though Biden has the pesky voters that are turning against him. So he needs the veneer.
He/the U.S. gets off on genocide, from Rwanda to Cambodia to Guatemala to Yemen to Palestine and so many more. I don't know that Biden was in Congress during the Guatemala/CIA, also known alternatively as the Mayan genocide the Silent Holocaust. Biden was in Congress for at least half of the massacre of Mayan civilians during the Guatemalan Civil War (1960–1996) by successive US-backed Guatemalan military governments. Just think of all the geriatric Congress critters that knew of what this country was doing or not doing. These guys metaphorically drink the blood and suffering.
I really don't understand why they block the U.N. everytime there's a genocide occurring when it appears they didn't start it. Population control?
More detail in this article, not on Biden but on the death squad tactic and how it was honed by Col. Michael Steele in latin America and carried forward to the middle east since 2001:

“… From El Salvador to Iraq: Washington's man behind brutal police squads
In 2004, with the war in Iraq going from bad to worse, the US drafted in a veteran of Central America's dirty wars to help set up a new force to fight the insurgency. The result: secret detention centres, torture and a spiral into sectarian carnage..”

You’ll find all these are the SAME tactics that they moved into Ukraine since 2014 with their nazi proxies unleashing death squads and genocide by on the russian speaking population in Eastern Ukraine.

I never meant it as understatement. They choose the worst of us to make themselves a profit. I greatly appreciate a link Roslyn sent me about "collective psychopathy" being different to individual psychopathy. It applies as much to the abusive rich as it does the mental state of Israel.
Cynicism works.
The saudi head choppers are self servings cruel and heartless, they turn which ever way the favorable winds blow. Regardless this is good news and indicator of a favorable geopolitical outcome for Palestine.
I'm just being a realist and seeing what we can get, and whether the Saudi-Russo relationship will emerge.
The saudi refineries are sitting ducks for Yemen. An attack on saudi would significantly disrupt global oil markets. This proclamation could be just another of saudi face saving appeasements, like Turkey they may claim one thing but their true intentions are devious.
Yes, and MBS wants to change his country's direction and he cannot do that by riling up the radicals who support Palestine.
Certainly no shortage of radicals for Palestine, I'm hopeful Iran in keeping matters from further escalation throughout.
Unfortunately, I cannot see the situation changing without more violence.
More Violence- to kill or be killed.. only language Netanyahu and his western 'greenback' lizards understand. Shame.

Ironically, it's only because of Israel that Palestine gets attention, whereas the Yemenis were treated by the world as non-existent.
That is positive news for Palestine. The Arabs are not united and neither are the Muslims but the genocide waged by Israel has certainly brought culture and religion much closer together.
If only the crimes committed to others would bring the Christians together...

Enough traditions become culture.

That's a lovely way to describe to it. I'd throw in a headbang :)

It's always about funding the radicals.
Radicals is one thing.
Mass murderers is another thing entirely.
Turning mass murder and genocide into a method and repeating it around the world, is beyond evil. How many lives are lost to this, and for what?
