Watched Coppola's 'Megalopolis' last week. I was the only viewer @ theater # 7 lol. Reminiscent of the European art movies from the past by Fellini, Tarkovsky, etc., but less subtle. Coppola put his own $100 mil into it. Not surprised it's box-office fiasco. Locals came thinking "Gladiator" not to watch the travails of an artist:-)
'We Need to Talk About Kevin', 'The Tree of Life', Donnie Darko', 'Detachment, , 'Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)', 'Being John Malkovich', 'Upstream Colour', 'The Savages', 'Cloud Atlas', 'The Sunset Limited', 'Requiem for a Dream', Primer' etc. And I haven't gotten to foreign movies such as 'Petrov's Flu' and 'Dogtooth'. We live in our world where a lot of people don't even understand 'Fight Club'.
One of my absolutely favorites
Comedy wise, second to ‘Cuckoo’ for me.

You're making me look more forward to it.
No one I know would enjoy, for example, 'Synecdoche, New York', yet it is a masterpiece.

I started to watch the movie ... thanks a lot for the link, I didnt know about it.
It’s bizarre that it’s so obscure, which makes watching it more fun.
I am not very knowledgable in film, but I go to a film club tomorrow and will ask my friends who knows it.
Going to a film club is a positive attitude, and I'm envious. I don't know anyone in the flesh whose into foreign movies,
I haven't updated it but have a look at https://www.mikehampton.co.uk/p/hello-russian-ukrainian-movies-documentaries - you'll find the fiction movies halfway down.
And here's the best of Palestinian and Israeli movies - https://www.mikehampton.co.uk/p/guide-palestinian-israeli-movies-documentaries
